The Franco-Ontarian flag, which flew for the first time on September 25, 1975, has become a symbol of the Franco-Ontarian community. The white and green are symbolic of our contrasting summer and winter seasons. The trillium, found on the right of the flag, is the floral symbol of Ontario, and the fleur-de-lys, located on the left of the flag, represents the French-Canadian heritage of our province.
