International Literacy Day recognizes the power of literacy in supporting and uniting individuals in learning new knowledge and skills, which can help shape our collective attitudes and behaviours in fostering a culture of respect, understanding, and relationship-building.
In DSB1, students engage in multilingual literacy through French as a Second Language (FSL) programming. In addition, students participate in Anishinaabemowin and Cree language classes offered at 7 DSB1 schools.
